Home~Sweet~Home -- The living room / area

I told the man at the furniture store, "If you can have these in my house by Saturday, you have a sale!

There's still work to be done, and there is now, a small dark table between the two sofas. I'd been in the home 3-weeks when these photos were taken.

I think this rug looks nice, the color is great, but it really is just too small.



The hole in the wall, where my little portable TV is, will someday become shelves. I really don't want TV in my living room, and especially not that one. TV watch'in is done upstairs!

Front entry

Front entry here, with clothes on the bench -- it's always something, and why do we never see these things until the photo has been taken?

Master "suite"

I don't know where that pink comes from in the hallway outside the bedroom. It must be something on the skylight windows or a reflection from someone's roof. The paint color is all the same. Curious!

And, there's that pile of clothing again. Where does that stuff come from???

This room has been painted. One wall was 'cherry' Red -- the wall with the shuttered window. As you go into the bathroom the, shuttered wall has been painted 'thin mints green'.

I love having all this upstairs -- so private!

Dining area

The artwork on the wall will become framed in a darker wood. Same frame, just dark wood. I expect to put a palm or plant where the lamp is -- that I do not intend to use there.

I'm getting quotes on double french doors going outward to the patio, to replace the sliding doors. I can't wait for that!

Back yard / patio

The first photo was taken pre-mother's day. I'm adding color with bougainvillea and such - and as you can see they need to be 'put in the ground' along with the potted palms from the old place. the second is progress. Somewhere in there is a little vegetable / herb garden that is doing quite well :). The entire patio is quite large and I'll post a photo facing in the other direction later. There is a huge hedge along the side of the house, and a 12-foot red rose "tree" -- which is now in bloom!

The streets in my community are all in this cobblestone-like brick. The people are 'so nice' and the neighborhood, so clean and quaint .. this must be: Stepford, CA!

Other rooms...

2nd Bedroom as office (which needs work -- today is 6/22 and not much has changed -- a busy lady these days!) and 3rd guest room (which needs work, too). The house came with the green wall. Everyone love it, so I'm trying to work with it. [Caveat]: I was trying. It's going to be painted this weekend.

[UPDATE 6/22]: I'm working with this scenario. Stay tuned for the final outcome!
